Business Development Manager - North, £38-40k + Bonus + Car Allowance. An exciting and newly created opportunity has arisen to join an award winning, global tour operator to promote their product in the trade across the north of England. Business Development Manager – North, Responsibilities:
Strengthen partnerships by supporting existing travel agent relationships to boost brand loyalty and grow regional presence.
Create and apply tailored engagement plans based on each partner’s potential and needs.
Encourage collaboration through bookings, training sessions, incentives, and joint marketing efforts.
Maintain regular contact through in-person visits, video calls, phone check-ins, and industry events.
Find and bring on new partners, including niche agencies and corporate travel groups.
Build strong connections with industry networks and consortiums to expand sales opportunities.
Track competitor activity and customer trends to find new areas for growth.
Develop and follow clear quarterly sales plans that align with wider business goals.
Include two local and two national sales activities in each quarterly plan.
Set clear sales targets, review performance often, and adjust strategies to exceed goals.
Take responsibility for regional results, using data to guide future actions.
Provide regular reports on progress, sales pipeline, and return on investment.
Keep CRM systems up to date with accurate details on activity, leads, and outcomes.
Represent the company at trade shows, partner events, and networking opportunities.
Deliver engaging product presentations and training sessions to trade partners and their teams.
Host familiarisation trips and promotional events to build stronger relationships and increase product knowledge.
Work closely with the Marketing, Product, and Support teams to run coordinated partner campaigns.
Collaborate with other BDMs to share insights and align on national sales efforts.
Offer useful market feedback to help shape product direction and pricing decisions
Business Development Manager – North, Skills and Experience required:
Successful background in growing sales, managing clients, or building business in the travel industry
Good at building relationships
Motivated by targets and confident in finding and following up on new leads.
Great at speaking clearly, giving presentations, and meeting new people.
Comfortable managing budgets and checking if activities are worth the cost.
Very organised, driven, and able to work well on your own.
Hold a valid driver’s licence
